Underlay is used when "floating" a wooden floor to provide acoustic (sound control) properties and a vapourstop (condensation) barrier when installing to a concrete subfloor.
It is important to first make sure the floor is flat. Underlay is then laid to the subfloor and the floor installed on the underlay.
Timbermate Silentfloor Gold, the ultimate underlay to use when you wish to install engineered wood flooring. The ultimate solution to noisy laminate and engineered wooden floors. Offers the
highest acoustic performance with a built in vapourstop barrier. Silentfloor will protecta against moisture using Vapourstop Tape. Up to 24dB reduction on transmitted impact noise.
The sound solution for wood and laminate floors is here.
Suitable for underfloor heating
4.20mm gauge high density resilient rubber underlay
Incorporates a Vapourstop barrier, eliminating the need for extra moisture protection such as polythene sheeting .Barrier membrane is ten times more moisture resistant than standard Polythene.
